Music Teacher

The South Glens Falls High School has an anticipated vacancy for a music teacher. The successful candidate will be expected to instruct students in various aspects of music including music theory, vocal techniques, music history, and performance skills. The teacher will also lead an an a capella performance group; preparing the group for school performances, community events, and potential competitions. 

All newly employed teacher's placement on the salary schedule is determined by education and prior experience. Recent experience in the certification area to which the individual is to be appointed and in a public school system similar to South Glens Falls is granted year for year.

Tutor/Building Sub

Location: South Glens Falls High School

The tutor/building sub is also designed to support our suspended students by providing tutoring services for suspended students and acting as the liaison between the home adults, students and faculty.  When tutoring services are not needed, the teacher may be used as a building substitute. Other duties may include, coverage for an alternative lunch setting for students that struggle with large crowds, case manager for the SALE program (tracking attendance and organizing assignments) and attendance at the PST meetings when available. After School tutoring and SALE teaching will only be assigned if no SGFFA members are available or interested.  

6.5 hours/day. Hours are likely to encompass after-school hours. Candidate must be flexible with work schedule. 

The teacher will be paid the per diem rate for Step 1 BA on the salary schedule.

$239.26/day
