| Groundsperson | | There is an anticipated vacancy for a full-time, 12-month Groundsperson in the Facilities & Operations Department. GENERAL DUTIES: - Performs routine manual work in grounds maintenance under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of approximately 110 acres of fields located in the South Glens Falls Central School District.
- Mows, rakes and cuts grass.
- Keeps ground free of litter.
- Operates and maintains all grounds equipment including mowers, tractors, trucks, snow blowers, weed eaters, trailers, etc. Works with Transportation Department on preventative maintenance plan.
- Responsible for all landscaping including shrubs and flowers.
- Inspects and maintains all playground equipment on a monthly basis.
- Coordinates District’s snowplowing activities.
- Hauls and spreads topsoil, gravel and related groundskeeping material.
- Maintains all blacktop surfaces (sealing and lining, repairing potholes).
- Marks and lines sports fields.
- Snow Removal
Other Duties May Include: -
Delivery of government donated foods once a month. -
Transfer cafeteria supplies to schools when requested. -
Assists in moving voting machines. -
Assists building maintenance mechanics in special projects. -
Supervises temporary employees assigned to the department. -
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations and Assistant Superintendent for Business MISCELLANEOUS: Position is full-time, year round. SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary and Benefits pursuant to CSEA contract

| Cleaner | | The district has a vacancy for a full-time cleaner (2nd Shift, 2:30pm-11pm). GENERAL DUTIES: -
Dust furniture -
Wash windows, walls, woodwork and lavatories -
Sweep, wash, mop and scrub floors using cleaning equipment -
Gather and dispose of refuse -
Clean and polish furniture and brass. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: -
Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment -
Ability to follow oral and written instructions -
Ability to read and write -
Thoroughness; cleanliness -
Good physical condition -
