Tutor - Out of School

The district has vacancies for tutors to work with MS/HS students who are out of school for a long term basis. A secondary-aged student (Grades 6-12) requires a minimum of 15 hours of instruction per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review subject specific content based on the students’ schedules 

  • Create educational materials to further demonstrate subject matter to be covered in academic sessions when necessary

  • Assess the progress of assigned students to ensure effective processes

  • Plan creative lessons to engage and educate students when necessary to teach or reteach material.

  • Establish a friendly, encouraging and welcoming environment for students 

  • Connect with administrators and counselors  to  keep them informed of student's progress and areas to be improved

  • Understand the unique needs of students that need an alternative learning environment and possess the flexibility to change lessons to meet the needs of individual students

 

$25/hour
Substitute - Registered Nurse

GENERAL DUTIES:  

  • Provide skilled nursing services as needed and requested

  • Carry out nursing duties to maintain student health, prevention of injury, perform first aid treatment of injuries and illness that occur while students are in school

  • Administer daily medications as prescribed

  • Maintain all health related documentation in School Tool for student encounters

  • Continuous communication with parents/guardians regarding medical concerns and other pertinent information.

  • Notify parents/guardians immediately of illness or injury.

  • Communicate with building nurses regarding any student/staff concerns encountered

  • Possible Full day coverage at any SGF School Health office if needed and available

  • Carry out other tasks and duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Deal effectively and professionally with students and staff in the district

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Neatness, accuracy, and professionalism

  • Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position

  • Communicate effectively with student parents, medical providers and other related services staff

$29.40/hour
