TITLE: Director of Innovative PK-5 Curriculum, Instruction and Design
Position Description
Pre-Kindergarten Registration, Curriculum, and Instruction
- In charge of all PK programing
- In charge of lottery information, lottery, parent night, and assisting with student placement between buildings
- Communicates to PK parents from the start of the lottery throughout the year about the program
- Works with the appropriate instructional teacher leaders to ensure that curriculum is consistent across the buildings
- Supports the PK Badging Report Cards
- Assists with UPK Screening
K-5 Responsibilities
Curriculum and Instruction
The Director of Innovative Curriculum, Design and Instruction is responsible for curriculum and instructional development at the elementary level.
- This individual supervises the development, implementation, revision and evaluation of the K-5 curriculum and instructional programs.
- The employee articulates and communicates the current instructional program.
- The employee identifies gaps between current and desired instructional programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
- This individual provides direction and leadership for K-5 instructional program activities and supervises the implementation of the curriculum rationale and framework and school improvement activities.
- Works with building administrators in the evaluation of instructional materials, including textbooks, digital resources, library/media, and other instructional materials.
Behavioral Support
The Director of Innovative Curriculum, Design and Instruction will work with elementary building principals to assist with students who are at risk based on behavioral needs.
- Observes students and assists teachers in creating behavior plans
- Covers elementary buildings when elementary principal is out of the building
- Sits on building level meeting about our at-risk students as needed
Future Ready Learning Spaces
- This individual works with district educators to develop future ready learning spaces.
- Leads professional learning on how to utilize flexible seating for innovative future ready instruction.
- Supports teachers and models use of spaces
- Works closely with building administrators to implement future ready learning spaces.
Summer Programming
- Responsible for creating a robust summer professional development program for teachers PK-12. Areas included are: Instructional Technology, Instruction, MTSS, and other district supported initiatives.
- Responsible for Student Summer Enrichment programming. This individual works with teachers to create academic offerings for our students in grades K-12.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership for short - and long -range planning for PK-5 curriculum and instructional initiatives: vision, goals, program objectives/strategies/activities, staffing, training, evaluation, budgeting, and collaboration with others.
- Provides leadership for short-and long-term range planning for flexible learning spaces.
- Plans, develops, and implements staff development activities to meet established PK-5 curriculum and instructional needs, including Computer Science and Digital Fluency skills curriculum.
- Provides data reports to District Office and Building Principals as requested.
- Works with elementary administrators on PK-5 curriculum and instruction implementation.
- Assists Building Administrators with observations of teaching staff PK-12.
- Analyzes benchmark assessments and oversees the reports for these benchmarks for teachers, parents, and families.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Terms of Employment
- Salary to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
- 11-Month Position (September 1- June 30th + 25 summer days)
Evaluation
Position will be evaluated by the Superintendent or designee
